Not Making Sense of My Diabetes

Manny over at tuDiabetes.com has again provided the Online Diabetes Community with another wonderful opportunity to Raise the Awareness of Diabetes in the lead up to the IDF’s World Diabetes Day which is held on November 14.

You will find many inspiring videos, blog posts and photos alike with individual messages providing an insight to their lives with diabetes.

Now I would love to share my trials and tribulations making sense of diabetes and for all it entails, but I can’t!

I’ve thought up until recent months that I knew my stuff when it came to Diabetes, how it operates and how it reacts, however I have only really started to embrace the ODC (Online Diabetes Community) via various Blogs, Forums, Community sites and Social Media sites such as Facebook and Twitter and quickly found out that I didn’t but at the same time found out what a hugely supportive bunch they all are!

The thing is with this condition is that there is so many variables.. Ranging from simple things like the weather, stress, work or rather the lack off, an addiction to junk food (yes I can feel my ears burning) to illness and eating out.

All these miscellaneous challenges contribute to complex and not fully understood condition even more complex.

The beauty about diabetes is that when you think you have perhaps cracked a key issue with regards to your own care, it has this tendency to rear its ugly head and slap you squarely in the the face, quite clearly pointing out who’s the boss!

So we continue the daily battle, chasing the Big D and trying to make sense of this condition and the challenges that it provides!

Until next time, Happy Diabetes!

I agree…just when you think you are making a bit of sense with it something changes…guess that’s why sometimes you can only take it moment by moment, day by day…but sometimes I’m just sooo tired of “chasing the big D”…

like a cat chasing his tail…

today with some stress I hit the 300 mark & had a heck of a time knocking that # down…

    *D-hugs*
